Life at SGSS, Jhansi

Why SGSS?

  • The Sainik Gaurav Seva School is first of its kind academy in Jhansi region, with an aim to provide residential schooling on the lines of Sainik School.
  • SGSS has been established under the aegis of Sainika Gaurav Seva Sansthan.
  • It’s a residential school for boys from class IV onwards. 
  • The school would be affiliated to CBSE.
  • It’s located in a pollution free environment, away from the city, close to Gadmau lake. 
  • Our vast campus is situated close to Madora village, about 6Kms from Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology on NH-27, Jhansi – Kanpur highway.

Beyond the Books

  • Our prime goal is to have growth in a child (called as “cadet”) in all respects with a blend of Indian vaidic & modern education system.
  • We instill a strong sense of self-discipline in our cadets, and to be a confident, role model global citizen of tomorrow. 
  • The SGSS  insignia has “Anushashan and Aadarash” etched on it which signifies the above ideals. 
  • “Jai Hind,” inscribed on notebooks represents the true patriotic approach of our institution.  
  • SGSS aims to meet the dual motive of providing quality education and training on the lines of Sainik schools. 
  • The curriculum has been tailor-made to cater for both academics, as well as adventure cum- military training. 
  • The direction of lamp radiating light signifies spreading of knowledge sphere.

SGSS Curriculum

Academic Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to nurture a strong character imbued with human values and all-round development in fields of academics, sports, and adventure. Students of SGSS are addressed as “Cadets”.

Discipline and to be a role model is the hallmark approach of all education and training activities imparted to the cadets at the SGSS. 

Library

Library at SGSS is well equipped with a variety of educational, fiction, general awareness, sports and reference books for all the cadets. 

Computer Lab

A modern computer lab to enable all cadets with access to computers and remain updated with the computer technology. 

Science and Math Lab

All equipment related to the concerned science subjects, of the respective classes, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are available. A section of Math Lab is also available.

NDA Approach

 Right from the beginning, systematic efforts/coaching/training by the staff our in place towards grooming the child to qualify NDA entrance examination.

A well-thought approach and periodic review of the same is the part of the school curriculum.

Extras at SGSS

Extra Curricular Programs

In addition to academics, SGSS conducts the various extra-curricular activities to promote esprit de corps, brotherhood, moral courage, stamina, physical strength, and courage and overall love for the nation with a view to mold the cadets into proud Indians:-

Unlimited Adventure

Sprawling swimming pool, rifle shooting, horse riding, obstacle course, rock climbing, and rappelling.

Regular physical training, parade, Yoga, and Pranayam are also part of the physical fitness.

Sports

Volleyball, badminton, basketball, kabaddi, table tennis, football, hockey, and a cricket ground.

Food at SGSS

Annapurna

There is a common cafeteria where all the meals, i.e. bed tea, breakfast, refreshment, lunch, evening tea, and dinners are served. The food served will be a well balanced nutritious vegetarian meal. Non-Vegetarian food is not served at SGSS.

Every meal is supervised by the duty staff. Proper etiquette will be observed by the cadets in the dining room during all the meals.

Extra milk, soups, fruits etc, will be provided on payment when advised by the doctor.

Health at SGSS

Medical Inspection Room

The campus has a full-fledged MI room, manned by a nursing assistant to provide first aid to the students. The Doctor is available on call at a short notice. He also visits the medical examination room, as & when required. 

Minor injuries and ailments are attended by the dispensary. In case of serious ailments or accident/mishap cadets are sent for a specialist opinion of the doctors on our panel. The charges so incurred are debited to the cadet’s personal account and will be deducted from their pocket allowance.

In case of any contagious disease or when the need arises for better care, parents would be advised to take the child home.
